The HOST | Robert BETTES
Robert Bettes has always had two big loves, television and beautiful homes. As a college kid, he’d cruise around the luxury neighborhoods of Scottsdale just to peek inside stunning houses and dream big. Robert went on to earn degrees in journalism and meteorology, eventually becoming a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist and a familiar face on TV.
In 2003, Robert combined his love of broadcasting and home tours to create The Open House Show, a unique mix of luxury real estate, design tips, gardening, cooking, and comedy, complete with quirky characters he plays himself. The show has aired in cities across the U.S. and continues to make house-hunting fun and inspiring.
Beyond TV, Robert is a devoted husband and dad of three, a Christian author, and even an organ donor as he donated a kidney to his son Mason in 2019. You can watch his documentary about becoming a living donor, which encourages others to become living donors as well.
With humor, heart, and a passion for connecting people, Robert proves that dreams, faith, and family can build something truly special.

The CAST | Cal, Nigel and Tomas

The Clumsy Guru
of Home Improvement
When something breaks at home, the last person you should call is Cal Cooper, unless you’re looking for free comedy with your repairs. This “DIY expert” turns every project into a blooper reel, proving that measuring twice and cutting once is apparently optional. He’s not trying to be funny, but you’ll laugh anyway as Cal’s “unique methods” turn your remodeling nightmares into pure entertainment. One thing’s for sure: with Cal, the only tool guaranteed to work is your sense of humor!

The Bumbling
British Gardener
Forget “the grass is greener on the other side.” With Nigel Pendelton, the grass might actually be on fire. This almost royal gardener once came within a hedge-clip of working at Windsor Castle, until a tragic leaf-blower mishap ended his career before it began. Now, The Open House Show proudly brings you Nigel’s “expert” gardening tips, which are equal parts fascinating and mildly dangerous. Viewer warning: please, for the love of your begonias, do not try this at home.
